Marc Wilkinson, owner of Pure Pizza in Morningside, Edinburgh, is offering free pizzas to everyone in the city throughout January 2023 as an act of kindness and to help those struggling with the cost of living crisis. The initiative will also provide additional work for part-time staff at the takeaway. Wilkinson estimates that it will cost him about £12,000 but hopes that people who receive a free pizza will pass on acts of kindness in their own way.
